Meet our coaches
David is committed to helping clients be the people they want to be, making the best contribution they can to their organisation and to society.
He has over 20 years of senior Management experience in the Public Sector, 12 at Deputy Chief Officer level, which included responsibility for Operations and Finance, ICT, Facilities, Legal Services and HR. He has led and managed transformational organisational change. He was involved with extensive policy advice to government and staff and union communication and negotiation.
He has also written articles on hearing impairment and works with people with mild to moderate impairment to find ways of overcoming the attendant psychological and practical barriers that hinder them from achieving their potential. David is also a Coach Mentor Supervisor for people learning to coach through apprenticeship and other programmes.
David gets enormous pleasure out of helping the individual reflect, take stock, deepen their awareness of their situation and its context, identify new possibilities, establish goals and make progress toward them. Often this may include learning new skills and contemplating new ways of seeing the work environment. David’s clients would describe him as challenging and yet respectful of the values and beliefs of the individuals he works with. He is particularly interested in the journey from full-time work to retirement and gains energy from helping busy people plan and navigate this in a way that works for them. David is a firm believer that there are often more options than those that are immediately obvious and that a well-timed coaching intervention can be enormously beneficial for the client and the business in facilitating this transition in a way that works for both.
David enjoys reading, travel cinema and theatre. He finds gentle gardening a relaxation, and attends Chelsea Flower Show most years, visiting more often the local RHS Garden (Hyde Hall). David loves the countryside, he especially enjoys birdwatching and he is very happy walking the coastal marshes of North Norfolk and Suffolk as well as the estuaries of Essex, where he lives.
